

The Chairperson of the Supreme Election Commission and administration members attended the 13th International Conference of Electoral Administrations, held on June 17–18. The conference was organized by the Central Election Commission. Parmen Jalaghonia, the Chairperson of the Supreme Election Commission, participated in a panel discussion. The main topic of the conference was “Disinformation Strategies, Artificial Intelligence, and the Role of Social Networks in Information Integrity.”
Over the course of two days, participants of the international conference discussed a range of key issues, including the impact of disinformation on electoral processes; disinformation as a policy challenge: mechanisms, driving factors, and impact; the role of artificial intelligence and social networks in electoral processes: opportunities and risks; and the role of information and education in countering disinformation.
The conference has brought together representatives of election administrations from 23 countries. It was attended by experts, international organisations working on electoral issues, and companies specialising in electoral technologies (A-WEB, Smartmatic).
