Conference For The Representatives Of The Regional Media Outlets On Election Topics
Within the framework of the new format of cooperation with the media, the conference " Media Development and New Approaches in Covering Electoral Processes was held for the representatives of regional media outlets. The event was organized by the Central Election Commission (CEC) and Supreme Election Commission (SEC) of Adjara, with the support of the program of the Council of Europe (CoE) entitled "Supporting the transparency, inclusiveness, and credibility of the electoral practice and process in Georgia". The meeting was opened by Giorgi Sharabidze, the Deputy Chairperson of the CEC, Parmen Jalaghonia, the Chairman of the Supreme Election Commission, and Markus Adelsbach, Head of the Council of Europe’s Elections and Participatory Democracy Division.

The visit of the Chairperson of Supreme Election Commission in the Republic of Albania
The representatives of the Central Election Administration and the Chairperson of the Supreme Election Commission, Parmen Jalaghonia observed the local self-government elections held on May 14 in the Republic of Albania. Members of the delegation as international observers observed the polling process at election precincts, including the opening and closing of the polling station. Following the election, the CEC representatives monitored vote-counting procedures as well.

CEC and SEC Representatives Meeting At The Supreme Election Commission
On February 10, the meeting of the CEC and SEC representatives was held at the Supreme Election Commission of Adjara. Giorgi Kalandarishvili, the chair of CEC and Parmen Jalaghonia, the chair of SEC, opened the meeting. Heads of different structural units of the CEC informed meeting participants about the various interesting issues.

Open Doors Day at the SEC
Due to Global Election Day the Supreme Election Commission arranged the meeting with Batumi State University students. The representatives of the Institutional Development and Public Affairs Department led the meeting.

Educational and informational project "My first elections"
The Supreme Election Commission has renewed the educational and informational project "My First Elections". In November and December this year, SEC trainers visited 15 public and private schools in Batumi. About 500 students attended the meetings.

On December 10, International Human Rights Day, the chairperson of the Supreme Election commission and other representatives of the administration attended the conference titled - "PWD Women Participation in Electoral and Political Processes" which took place in Hotel “Sheraton”, Batumi.

Renewed Project "My First Elections"
Supreme Election commission renewed the informational project “ My First Elections” within the framework of the memorandum signed between the Supreme Election Commission and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports of Adjara. On November 18, SEC trainers conducted the meetings at N4 and N8 public Batumi schools.

Training of Trainers – “Vote outside the box’
On May 16, online training of trainers – “Vote outside the box’ - was organized with the cooperation of the Supreme Election Council of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara and the Council of Europe Office in Georgia. Opening remarks were delivered by Parmen Jalagonia, the Chairperson of the Supreme Election Commission, and Franck Daeschler, the representative of the Council of Europe. The working meeting was led by Dan Moxon, the COS expert.

Mock elections in Batumi
The Election Administration (EA) conducted mock elections to study the use of electronic technology in elections. The officials of the Central Election Commission (CEC) and Supreme Election commission (SEC) observed the mock elections.

Summary Report of Elections
On March 18, at the plenary session of the Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, the Chairperson of SEC - Parmen Jalaghonia, presented the summary report on the elections, held on October 31, 2020.

Election Day
Today the Parliamentary Elections of Georgia and Supreme Council Elections of A.R. of Adjara are being held. Overall, 21 members of the Supreme Council will be elected, 18- with the proportional, and 3 - with the majoritarian system. The polling process has already been started. All election precincts in the region were opened at 07:00, all rules are followed to hold elections professionally, in an accessible and safe environment. To ensure the participation of voters placed in medical institutions and isolation 24 special polling stations were established. Those pooling stations will serve 4044 voters with 70 mobile ballot boxes. For the 2020 Supreme Council Elections, the number of voters is - 314 899. The election process and in particular, the counting process, at mentioned polling stations will be held according to special sanitary -hygienic rules, separated from other polling stations.

Total number of voters in Adjara region is 314 889
314 899 voters are registered in Adjara region for 2020 Supreme Council Elections. The process of checking the voters’ list is completed.

The Informational Campaign
Parliamentary Elections of Georgia and Supreme Council Elections of the Autonomous Republic of Ajara will be conducted on October 31. In Ajara Autonomous Republic, the voters will get 4 different-coloured ballot papers, green and yellow for proportional and majoritarian elections of the Supreme Council of A.R., blue and pink for proportional and majoritarian elections of the Parliament of Georgia.

Webinar "My First Elections"
The head of the Institutional Development Division of SEC, Rusudan Ananiashvili, conducted a webinar for the pupils of public schools. The meeting was held in the framework of the project “Generation of Future”. The mentioned program is implemented by the Education Development and Employment Training Center, supported by the American Organization PH International and funded by USAID. The project is also supported by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport of Ajara Autonomous Republic.

The SEC Session
Today, the SEC meeting was held at the Supreme Election Commission. The commission created the special group for observing the printing process of ballot papers for the 2020 Parliamentary and Supreme Council Elections, which will be conducted on October, 31.
