On December 10, International Human Rights Day, the chairperson of the Supreme Election commission and other representatives of the administration attended the conference titled - "PWD Women Participation in Electoral and Political Processes" which took place in Hotel “Sheraton”, Batumi.
Opening remarks were delivered by Davit Gabaidze, the Chairperson of the Supreme Council of Adjara A/R, Renata Levovski, Country Director of IFES Georgia, Levan loseliani, the Vice-Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, Giorgi Sharabidze, the Deputy Chairperson of the CEC of Georgia and leaders of partner organization to the event. The three-panel conference was held in the question-answer mode and concluded by getting the recommendations.
The conference was conducted with the support of the Gender Equality Council of the Supreme Council of Adjara, the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES), the US Agency for International Development (USAID), Open Space for the Caucasus (COS) and the European Union for Georgia.
On December 10, 1948, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
